Wouter Hendrix takes over the reins of the Lehigh menís tennis program for the 2012-13 season. Hendrix spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach for the Mountain Hawksí menís and womenís program as well as Director of the Lewis Tennis Center.Hendrix obtained Masterís degrees in History and Political Science in his home country Belgium, and earned his Masterís degree in Educational Leadership from Lehigh University in 2010. While working with Lehighís menís program, Hendrix was part of a pair of record-setting seasons in 2011 and 2012. In 2011, the Mountain Hawks defeated Patriot League rival Navy for the first time in over 20 years and advanced to the Patriot League Championship match for the first time in school history. The 2012 season saw Lehigh defeat Army for the first time in more than 30 years. Born and raised in a sports-oriented family, Hendrix played tennis at the international juniors level. He also won the Belgian Doubles Championships twice and was in the Belgian top five during his juniorís career, competing in a generation of current professional players such as his former doubles partner Kristof Vliegen, as well as Steve Darcis, Xavier Malisse, Olivier Rochus, and Ruben Bemelmans. He has been the sparring partner of Kim Clijsters and Alexandra Stevenson. His father Ivo was a head coach for the Flemish Tennis Organization and coached the Belgian Womenís team at the Fed Cup. Hendrix and his wife Pamela have a son, Leo.
